When it first came out Still Crazy was a sleeper hit. Since then it is almost forgotten. I saw it at a discount bin at a local music store. While it did seem interesting, I did not want to spend $5 on what could be a one time view. So I did the best next thing. I put it on my Netflix Queue.
The story of the movie is simple enough. It’s about a 70’s rock band, after 20 years reunites. It is in the style of This is Spinal Tap, which I have not seen all of it, in that it is about the miss fortunes of the band trying to make the reunion work. The cast is great so is the acting. Non of the band members are over the top goofy, which adds to honestly of the story. It’s believable that this is how a band pass their fame would act. It’s hard not to care about the band, even with all the old band cliché jokes.
Still Crazy is a good movie. May not be the funniest movie out there, but is enjoyable which is more than you can say about most movies. Rent it if you can, or if you see it in a bargain bin I say buy it. 4 stars out of 5
